Choose cabinets and countertops through California Renovation at Chico Carpet One and Roseville Carpet One. Both Carpet One showrooms offer flooring, tile and area rugs; window treatments are offered at Chico only.

Brenda Groteguth, Senior Designer, California Renovation
I specialize in helping clients bring their spaces to life through thoughtful flooring design, interior styling, and complete kitchen and bath remodels. From the moment you walk into our showroom, my goal is to make the design process feel inspiring, approachable, and completely tailored to your lifestyle.
I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design from California State University, Fresno, where I developed a strong foundation in space planning, materials, color theory, and functional design principles. Over the years, I’ve built a diverse portfolio that includes kitchen and bath design, lighting design, light commercial projects, and residential interiors. This combination of experience allows me to create spaces that are not only beautiful but practical, efficient, and uniquely personalized.
I love getting to know each client’s vision and guiding them toward the finishes, flooring, and design elements that truly elevate their home. Whether I’m crafting a kitchen layout, selecting lighting to enhance a space, or coordinating materials for a remodel, I strive to make every step smooth, clear, and enjoyable.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with loved ones, exploring creative projects, and being part of the Chico community. I’m grateful to work with a team that values craftsmanship, collaboration, and exceptional service — and I bring that same commitment to every project I touch.
From Start to Finish
Many homeowners visit our showroom with the same question: "How does this process work from start to finish?" Here's a clear overview of what you can expect.
Your project begins with a visit to Chico Carpet One or Roseville Carpet One, where you can meet our team and explore material options.
You then book a site visit so we can take measurements and discuss your design goals in detail.
Based on the information gathered, we provide a preliminary price range for your project.
If the ballpark estimate aligns with your expectations, we collect a $500–$750 design fee. This fee varies depending on the amount of CAD drawings or other specification work required.
$500 – $750 Design FeeWe schedule a follow‑up visit with our contractor manager to review the project, answer questions, and finalize key details.
With your designer, you'll make final selections such as countertops, sinks, faucets, tile, and other finishes.
We prepare and present a detailed final bid that includes labor, materials, and scope of work for your approval.
If you choose to move forward, we draft a comprehensive contract that outlines all details, pictures, warranties, and agreed‑upon start dates.
Once the contract is signed and the deposit is received, we place all material orders.
We typically allow 4–6 weeks between contract signing and the project start date to ensure everything is ready.
4–6 Weeks Lead TimeFrom demolition to final installation, the construction phase usually takes 4–8 weeks depending on complexity. Our project manager visits your job site regularly and communicates with you about times and dates throughout so you can plan around the work.
4–8 Weeks ConstructionAfter all work is completed and every detail meets your satisfaction, the final payment is collected.
